London Hair. #chs

I recently did a modeling job for London Hair, a place I remember as a child from Charleston. My sister actually had some kind of glamour shots done there at the age of 13, and I think my mother still has the photo on the mantle. What I find funnier is that the job was done in New Orleans. Although the gig was fun and every aspect of the styling good, I hope these don't circulate as long as the other hair jobs I've done in the past. I had a friend from Los Angeles recently text me a photo she came across in a hair styling book while waiting for her stylist. It was from 2004. Eeep.

Dad's Day.

It's approaching. Get your pappy happy gear now - and from what better place than Megan Huntz and Trevor White's refreshing enterprise? The duo created Huntz + White ties in 2 0 1 2 and haven't stopped making particularly sharp accessories for men since. Utilizing Megan's fabric enrichment techniques that she uses in her dress line, the quality of neckwear, both neck ties and bowties, is visually apparent. From the Huntz + White site:

ex-site-ed.

My new site is live and I couldn't be happier with it. All of my skills on display in one place - my best 'biz card' yet. If you know anyone in need of a model that can cook, style food, and paint you a picture if it, I'm your woman. I get by with a little help from my friends. Love all y'all.

Food + Films = Love. #chs

The first annual Charleston Food and Film Festival is this weekend, and tickets are on sale as we speak. Though it's the first time this innovative festival has come to the Holy City, it's been going on for a few years in New York and Chicago.

The website describes the experience as a chance for film viewers to taste what they are watching on the screen. Since the Charleston festival is benefitting GrowFood Carolina, the tasty series of shorts take place at the GrowFood warehouse and tickets include seating/screening, plus food and beverages prepared by international chefs.

Sounds yummy, no?

southern ground. #chs #nola

Charleston!! Be on the lookout for some Southern Ground Music and Food Festival action headed your way. In the meantime, Nashville is going to be rocking this September to likes of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Willie Nelson and The Family Band, Nola's own Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, and the lovely Grace Potter and the Nocturnals - who just so happens to be one of my favorite bands. Not to mention, Nashville's food scene is already banana boats without some festival calling all talent, so that said, I'll be seeing you there.
